2019…Our Year Review!
2019 was another busy one for JC Dance!
February saw the introduction of a brand new class for the tiniest dancers; Baby Steps and in April we also launched weekly Acro classes, both have been exciting additions to the timetable.
In April we ran a “Parents Do Dance Class Week” in aid of Trinity Hospice and it was so much fun! The classes were happy and energetic and it was great to see so many parents and family members (in the case of our adult classes, their children!) join in our classes and see what we get up to. Together we raised a brilliant £172.42 for the charity and will be planning to do the event again next year.
We took part in Poulton Gala in June and although it was a less than perfect weather day we had a lovely time walking in the parade and waving and the crowd. Fingers crossed for sun in 2020!
July saw exam sessions for RAD Ballet, ISTD Modern and ISTD Tap and brilliant successes with a total of 40 Distinctions.
September saw the 15th anniversary of JC Dance and a little reflection on where it all started.
September also saw our first student commence professional full time dance training. Tia, a student for 13 years, successfully auditioned for a place at Preston’s College Dance and started her tuition there in September,we look forward to following her journey at college!
As the end of the year grew near, our 15th Annual Show took place the 30th November and 1st December and myself and the teachers were so proud of everyone! We had some lovely and heartfelt feedback from parents and I am so glad the show was enjoyed!
We rounded of the year with Christmas Jumper Week in aid of Save the Children and of course, our Children’s Christmas Party!
2020 here we come!!
